Ann Arbor Area Chapter Retirement Trust Foundation Committee
Retirement Trust Foundation Pin
March 4, 2011
Dear A3C members,
As your Ann Arbor Area Chapter Chair to the Retirement Trust Foundation (RTF), I would like to provide some valuable information to you about the RTF to help you become more familiar with the wonderful work being done, and critical support the RTF is providing to administrative professionals right now!
The Retirement Trust Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization, was formed and operates exclusively for charitable purposes: acquiring, maintaining and operating homes for elderly administrative professionals, age 55 and older, who are in need, maintaining Vista Grande, its own retirement center (the world's only retirement center for administrative professionals) and the RTF website. The demand for comfortable, affordable housing for retired administrative professionals is growing, and the RTF seeks to help fill that need. Not only do they have the Vista Grande, but they recognized that not all admins can or want to live at the Vista Grande and so they have implemented a program, called Housing Subsidy for Admins in Need (HSAN).
Through this new service, a retired administrative professional living in a retirement community can receive financial assistance to be used toward housing costs. To qualify, applicants must meet HUD financial guidelines. Assistance can be a part of or all of rent (depending on funds available and need). Here are the Retirement Trust Foundation Housing Assistance and Vista Grande Grant policies as adopted March 20, 2010. To apply for HSAN you need to download, fill out the Financial Assistance Application and follow directions for submitting.
Promotional efforts are are emphasized primarily in November and March, however, opportunities for donating are available all year long through contributions in the Family of Givers program, patio pavers and an online donation form. The Family of Givers and other programs can be found at The Trust’s website: www.iaap-rtf.org. There is also a beautiful RTF Pin that you can obtain ($5.00) to also help donate toward the Trust.
Please take a moment to look at the website, to familiarize yourself with the RTF, its Leadership/Trustees, ways you can contribute if you wish to do so, and to become more familiar with the programs and resources available to you, the Vista Grand retirement center in New Mexico, and the many service opportunities available to you, if interested.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have at the email below. I look forward to working with you to promote The Trust in any way I can. Let’s work together to share the benefits of The Trust!
Thank you,
Erin K. Hammel
